The Fearful Obsessions Team

Brooke Reid
In her final year of the University of Toronto's joint journalism program with Centennial College, Brooke looks forward to graduating this spring and delving into a bright future and career. Many of the phobias that Brooke writes about actually affect the people in her life. In her articles she tries to enlighten people who don't know about each phobia and how it affects the people that have them.

Patrick Clarke
Growing up in a country deemed the most homophobic nation in the world - Jamaica, Patrick was drawn to the phobia of homophobia because of the effects it has had on Jamaica. He is in his fourth year of Ennglish and journalism studies at the University of Toronto. Clarke aspires to be a world class news reporter.  

Salima Virani
Salima looks forward to graduationg this year and pursuing a career in broadcast journalism.  Salima was drawn to the topic of phobias as she suffers from a few fears herself and wanted to explore them more.  Her fears include a fear of death and one of her articles explores thanatophobia so not only can she be more informed, but readers can become more aware.   Her goal in the magazine was to inform people that phobias are treatable and people who suffer from then can get help.

Thandiwe Vela
A native of Zimbabwe, Thandiwe is considered to be an expert on social anxiety after years of suffering with the condition and the depth of research she's done while contributing to Fearful Obsessions. She is in her fourth year of the joint-journailsm program with Centennial College and the University of Toronto.
